Diamond Trading Company (DTC) Botswana is as a 50/50 joint venture between the Government of the Republic of Botswana and De Beers, representing the most extensive and sophisticated rough diamond sorting and valuation enterprise globally, with an annual capacity of 45 million carats. Its rough diamonds sales are distributed under a Sales Agreement, with 75% allocated to De Beers Sightholder Sales and 25% to the Okavango Diamond Company.
DTC Botswana is dedicated to fostering a robust, sustainable, and profitable downstream diamond industry in Botswana through advanced sorting and valuation practices. Upon arrival from mining operations, diamonds are meticulously sorted and categorized based on their carat weight, cut, clarity, and color—the four critical characteristics known as the 4Cs.
