Responsibilities
We are looking for a versatile, driven and dynamic individual to join our team as a Data Analyst. The overall purpose of the job is to implement the quality management information system and provide accurate, relevant and timely diamond sorting and valuation statistical information.
This role also analyses data and trends regarding diamond valuations, sales and producer intake and makes recommendations to meet the departmental strategic objectives.
Key Performance Areas
• Monitors that the product is delivered on time and consistently ‘fit for purpose’
• Develops sectional product plan to product planning and ensure quality control is implemented, executed, and monitored effectively, efficiently, and sustainably.
• Ensures deadlines and customer needs are met, plan work and provide progress updates to relevant parties.
• Produces high quality +10.8ct and fancy colour valuations.
• Ensures delivery of QA technical valuation for DTCB Special Stones.
• Advises and consults with Large Stones Technical Specialist to ensure correct technical parameters are used on all valuations.
• Oversees the implementation of a cycle plan that meets agreed Sales Negotiations requirements and resource capabilities.
• Continually monitors production progress against plan and advises the relevant parties with remedial actions.
• Participates in team problem solving activities and execute allocated actions to overcome production challenges.
• Leads and facilitates structured process to identify actions that will contribute to recovery against plan as part of problem-solving activities.
• Updates planning and scheduling based on actual performance.
• Verifies and certifies accuracy and consistency of final presentation of large Stones.
• Monitors and reports on progress against plan and adherence to processing standards.
Minimum Requirements
• Degree in Statistics or related qualification.
• 3 years post qualification experience in the statistics and analytical discipline, with an in-depth knowledge and application of specialist statistical system.
• Knowledge of De Beers Assortment and or valuation methodologies will be an added advantage. Extensive Knowledge of sorting processes and Diamond Systems
