
Diamond Trading Company Botswana (DTCB), Debswana Diamond Company, Okavango Diamond Company (ODC), and De Beers Global Sightholder Sales (DBGSS) have joined forces to launch the Media Pipeline Education Programme – a strategic initiative designed to elevate the quality and depth of media coverage surrounding Botswana’s natural diamond industry.
Held from 14th to 17th September 2025, the programme welcomed around 50 media professionals, including journalists, editors, digital content creators, and citizen reporters. Attendees were immersed in the full diamond journey – from mine to market – through guided mine tours and technical briefings that illuminated the intricacies of the diamond value chain.
Recognizing the media’s pivotal role in shaping public perception of Botswana’s diamond sector, the initiative promoted transparency, dialogue, and knowledge-sharing. This morning’s sessions were particularly engaging, offering diverse perspectives and fostering meaningful conversations.
Ultimately, the programme seeks to refine journalistic skills, enhance public awareness, and reinforce Botswana’s reputation as a global leader in responsible diamond production.
