Prudence MabuaSenior Manager - Technical Services


Prudence is a qualified Professional Engineer with a BEng Electrical and Electronics from the University of Surrey (UK).  She has amassed over 26 years’ experience in engineering environment. Majority of those twenty of those in the diamond industry.. Prudence joined the then Botswana Diamond Valuing Company (BDVC) – now Diamond trading company Botswana  ( DTCB ) in 1997 as a Technical Officer. It is here that within three years, upon realising her potential and technical aptitude the company offered her a scholarship through– Debswana program to pursue my BEng Degree in Electrical and Electronics which I attained in 2003. In 2008 she was promoted to the role of Technical Services Manager for DTCB, a position which she held until 2016. During her tenure she gained people leadership skills, networking skills and project management skills for managing both brownfield and green field projects in Engineering and Production. She recently completed a two-year Regional and International Assignment at DeBeers Venetia mine, Musina Limpopo, South Africa in 2020, where she was able to consolidate her Engineering asset management knowledge and skills and gaining significant insights into setting up engineering design principles for a new underground mine operation.

In 2021 she was appointed Senior Manager Technical Services, a role that she is currently holding. She is the executive responsible for all Technical departments in the business being Asset Management, IM and Safety and Sustainability.  She is also tasked with the huge responsibility of introducing the digital transformation in the business, and rolling out sustainability development initiatives.

Amongst her role at DTCB, Prudence is also the Chairperson of Corpus Catholic Church Parish, serves in the Standard Board committee of Engineers Registration Botswana (ERB) and the Broadhurst Primary school Board of Directors. She is also a philanthropist who is passionate about community projects that uplift the community that she lives in. She also coaches and mentors young upcoming Engineering professionals.
