Earlier today, the DTC Botswana team had the distinct privilege of welcoming and engaging with Ms. Malebogo Mpungwa, the Chief People Officer of De Beers Group. Her visit was graciously hosted by Ms. Stella Moetse, the Senior Manager – Human Resources at DTC Botswana.
As an integral part of the De Beers Group, DTC Botswana shares aligned core values, work ethics, and strategic goals that drive us to fulfill our organisational mandate. The purpose of Ms. Mpungwa’s visit was to participate in the Visible Felt Leadership (VFL) initiative—a program designed to foster authentic connections with employees across multiple functions through meaningful and impactful engagement.
Her visit commenced with interactive sessions with our Sorter Trainees from the Academy, alongside our Human Resources team. Following these sessions, she toured several key operational areas, including the Diamond Cleaning Plant, various sections within Administration (Security and Finance), Hospitality and Operations.
Throughout the VFL sessions, Ms. Mpungwa shared valuable insights into several critical aspects of our business, such as De Beers Group’s overarching strategic focus areas, prevailing trends within the mining industry, the evolving role of leadership in our sector, and emerging HR trends shaping the future of our organization.
Additionally, she took the time to express sincere appreciation for the dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment demonstrated by the entire DTCB team in consistently delivering excellence. It’s worth noting that some of her interactions with our employees were not her first encounter; she had previously collaborated with several team members earlier in her career, reinforcing the strong ongoing relationships.
