DTC Botswana hosts Honourable Mamadou Sangafowa-Coulibaly

DTC Botswana welcomed a high-level ministerial delegation from the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, led by the Honourable Mamadon Sangafowa-Coulibaly, Minister of Mines, Petroleum and Energy. The visit took place today as part of an official engagement aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two nations in the minerals sector.

The Honourable Minister was accompanied by a delegation of senior officials, including Mr. Sakaria Kone, Ambassador of Côte d’Ivoire to South Africa, and Mrs. Mireille M’BAYIA, Chief of Staff, among other distinguished members. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Dr. Obolokile Obakeng, Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Minerals and Energy, alongside DTC Botswana Managing Director, Ms. Serty Leburu, and her executive management team.

The visit reflects Botswana’s commitment to deepening bilateral relations with Côte d’Ivoire, with a particular focus on extractive industries, mineral beneficiation, and value chain development. It also emphasised the growing strategic partnership between the two countries, centred on knowledge exchange, collaboration and fostering sustainable growth within the mineral sector.

For DTC Botswana, the engagement provided an opportunity to showcase its operational capabilities and its contributions to national value addition initiatives. The visit further reinforced our role as a key partner in supporting government priorities and advancing international cooperation in the minerals industry.
