DTC Botswana donates Masks to Sekgoma Primary School in Maun

Diamond Trading Company donated a total of 1500 masks to Sekgoma Primary School in Maun in support of the COVID- 19 prevention.

The project was initiated through the DTCB Corporate Social Responsibility programme under the staff volunteer initiative called “SHOW YOU CARE”, which is also a DTCB Value.

Giving back to the community in which we operate is key in building relationships and supporting communities in need. The technical Services CSI Committee spearheaded this project after noticing the need the school had. The mandatory requirement of masks in public and at schools is critical and DTCB understands that some may not afford this very necessary item that is expected to reduce the risk of infection.

Speaking at one of the handover ceremonies in Maun, The DTCB TSS CSI Chairperson, Mr Tshepo Sebobi said DTCB saw the need to support the Schools after an assessment was made by the TSS staff members.

Sebobi said wearing a mask in public is one of the key preventative measures promoted by WHO and DTCB is proud to have contributed towards the fight against the pandemic.

Sekgoma Primary School Head, thanked DTCB for the support, adding that the Face Masks would be given to pupils who came from less privileged families. The head also appreciated DTCB for their generous gesture, saying the donation would go a long way at meeting the needs of the students.
