DTC Botswana Employees Donate Clothing To Some Members Of The Gweta Community

On 3rd June 2017, DTC Botswana’s employees from the IT department, represented by the Employee CSI Committee, donated clothing to some community members located in the Gweta area. As part of the company’s value of ‘Show We Care’ the team members in the department ran a clothing drive donation within DTCB where employees donated clothes.

The Gweta area was earlier in the year affected by the Dineo rains which caused flooding and left many displaced. It has been reported that more than 130 households with an average of three members each have been affected by the floods. At least 22 familiescomprising 106 people were housed in tents at Gweta Brigade, as water levels had stagnated at Zoroga.

The DTCB Employee CSI programme came about after the realisation that some DTCB employees are engaged in fragmented and isolated community upliftment projects and thus do not receive the mileage they deserve. The employee community programme aims to consolidate all our efforts so that our contribution to the community is real, lasting and makes us proud.
