Standing Up For Safety Together

Today, Diamond Trading Company Botswana partnered with De Beers Global Sightholder Sales to commemorate Global Safety Day, which is recognized across De Beers and Anglo American. This day was created for business to reflect on the importance of safety practices and celebrate efforts made by our colleagues to ensure that safety is put first in all our activities. Global Safety Day is an opportunity for all of our employees, contractors, suppliers and visitors – to renew our commitment to standing up for safety and to recommit to having the courage and conviction to always do the right safe thing.

This year’s theme was ‘Standing up for safety, together’, which means doing whatever it takes to keep ourselves and each other safe, because nothing is more important than our safety. It encourages us to speak up to prevent accidents, always having the courage and conviction to do the right, safe thing and look for ways to continually improve our safety practices. Standing up for safety also includes mental wellness and psychological safety. This applies to the workplace and at home.
